My entire discussion of color theory is indebted to, and the visualization using the globe is taken from Maggie Maggio and Lindly Haunani's Polymer Clay Color Inspirations.  Most of what I know about color I learned from Maggie Maggio, an extremely talented polymer clay artist.  Check out her blog, Smashing Color.

And here it is knitted into a swatch.  Note that the swatch is only 24 stitches wide, so the color pooling you see here would work differently for a larger project.
