My entire discussion of color theory is indebted to, and the visualization using the globe is taken from Maggie Maggio and Lindly Haunani's Polymer Clay Color Inspirations.  Most of what I know about color I learned from Maggie Maggio, an extremely talented polymer clay artist.  Check out her blog, Smashing Color.

Here is the yarn I spun from her BFL tonal in "Lake":
